This tower is set high on densely wooded are on top of a hill. It’s 280 meters tall and the tower is designed like a cut diamond. This facetted diamond design allows to maximise daylight through the cold winter months by reflecting and refracting natural light which illuminates the interior rooms.
The design of the tower will be an example for future development in the region through applying only the most stringent principles of sustainable design. The south facing atria is key to the environmental performance of the building: It leads to maximal daylight and solar gain, hence reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and heating through the cold winter months. The building will also include combined heat and power generation as well as renewable energy sources which further maximise energy efficiency.
The tower rises between two podium buildings which house a rich mix of residential, office, hotel and retail accommodation, so that the entire scheme will be animated day-long. A viewing platform and restaurant at the tower’s summit will offer panoramic views over the city and its surroundings.
