It’s called 237:oxhoFt and it’s situated in Nuthethal, Bergholz-Rehbrücke next to Potsdam near Berlin in northeast Germany.
The term ‘Oxhoft’ stands for an old and traditionally used cubic measure for wine and spirituous beverages. (1 Oxhoft = 1½ Ohm = 180 Quart) The number ‘237’ describes the cubic content of the restaurant’s kitchen capacity.
The name oxhoft etymologically comes from Dutch ‘oxhoofd’, meaning ‘head of an ox’. It’s related to the english word ‘hogshead’.
